Olympia WA Fall 2021 Arts Walk | Art in Olympia WA | What is Olympia Like?

Olympia, Washington has a great arts scene and in fact, it’s such a big deal here, the City of Olympia not only has one arts walk but two! Here is a short video of the Fall 2021 arts walk featuring just a small sampling of local and regional artists and their work.

What is Arts Walk?

Arts Walk is a City of Olympia program that brings the community together through art! Artists can showcase their work in local shops and businesses – not just in a gallery – and you can also find pop-up performances on the street and sidewalks. This makes art more accessible and less intimidating and a lot more fun.

If you are new to Olympia

If you are new to Olympia, Arts Walk is a great way to take a walk around downtown but to also explore the local shops where artists are featured. You not only get to see the cool and unique small businesses we have in downtown Olympia but also see some pretty cool art, as well.

What can kids do?

If you think the kids might be bored with this, one of the fun things they can do is participate in the Salmon Art Adventure. There are official maps at the City Hall but you can do your own scavenger hunt. Can they find the salmon in the art?

I’ll start you off with an easy one. You can’t miss Joe Seymour’s Salmon in the Sky on the Views at Fifth building.

Olympia Arts Walk Tour

Watch the rest of my video as I take you on a tour of some of the murals, the sculpture on the waterfront (the Percival Plinth Project), what’s happening at The Washington Center for Performing Arts and some of the featured artists at Childhood End’s Gallery.

There is so much to see and explore in our downtown Olympia area, even on a rainy fall day.
