Come along with me as we explore the Grass Lake Village neighborhood in West Olympia, Washington!
Grass Lake Village is located in a great location in West Olympia. You are in the hub of parks, retail shops, restaurants, freeway access, Capitol Medical Center, and schools including Capital High School and The Evergreen State College.
Although I’d call this a semi-urban location, the neighborhood lends a welcoming atmosphere with its sidewalks and waterfall fountain entrance. This neighborhood is a mix of single-family homes and townhomes. Streets are narrow but that encourages slower driving and they have my favorite road feature: a couple of roundabouts!
Grass Lake Park
The neighborhood also has a trailhead to the Grass Lake Park but there is another trailhead off of Kaiser Road that you can drive and park. This nature reserve was teaming with very vocal birds when I was there. There is a gravel path that takes you through the trees and is a nice loop to get out in nature. And this is in your backyard when you live at Grass Lake Village.
Jay’s Farm Stand
A couple of my favorite spots that are so close to Grass Lake Village is Jay’s Farm Stand. They have a great assortment of fresh fruit and vegetables and lots of healthy options that certainly inspires wholesome recipes!
Bark and Garden Center
But by far my favorite place to visit is the Bark and Garden Center. They have a huge selection of indoor and outdoor plants and everything you need for your garden, from pots, tools, outdoor furniture, statues, bird feeders, soil, fertilizer, seeds – this is a place that certainly inspires me to get out and beautify my landscape. They also have a test garden with a waterfall fountain and shows the use of native plants and pairings. This garden at the Bark and Garden Center was designed by Nature Perfect Landscaping and I hired them to design a garden at my house.
