Indian Summer Residential Community is a gated community that surrounds the Indian Summer Golf & Country Club.  There are approximately 500 single family homes, condos and townhomes.  Many of the homes enjoy a wonderful golf course view.  The community features a gate guard where visitors can check in, miles of sidewalks throughout to take a stroll in theIndian Summer golf and country club neighborhood, walking trails through the nature preserve  to observe an abundance of bird activity, and neighborhood access to the Chehalis-Western Trail for bicycling, walking and running.  There is also a spa and salon, which is open to the public, as well as the clubhouse restaurant, The Embers, which is also open to the public.  The clubhouse has banquet facilities for weddings, parties and other events.   

The Indian Summer Golf and Country Club features an 18 hole, 72 par course.  The front nine is a links-style course and the back nine is a traditional course with some slopes and lots of trees.  Indian Summer Golf and Country Club is a private club open to members only.  Many residents are members and enjoy the convenience of riding their golf cart from their garage to the course in a matter of minutes!  But you don’t need to be a golfer to enjoy the Indian Summer neighborhood.

Driving south on Interstate 5

Take exit #109 (Martin Way towards College St/Sleater-Kinney Rd).

Turn right onto Martin Way E.Map

Take the first left onto College Street SE.

Turn right onto Yelm Highway SE.

Turn left onto Troon Ln SE

 

Driving north on Interstate 5

Take exit #103 for Deschutes Way.

Turn right onto E Street SW.

Turn left onto Capitol Blvd S.

Turn right onto Custer Way SE.

Turn right onto Cleveland Avenue, which turns into Yelm Highway SE.

Turn right onto Troon Ln SE

 

 Commuting

  • Local Bus Service with Intercity Transit 
  • Amtrak with service to Seattle and Portland and beyond.  The local Amtrak train station is located in Lacey, just a few minutes from Indian Summer. 
  • Joint Base Lewis McChord is 23 miles from Indian Summer, and is best reached by driving northbound on Interstate 5.  Travel time is estimated at about 30-40 minutes.

To get to Seattle:

    • Drive northbound on Interstate 5 (approximately 60 miles from Indian Summer and about a 1-hour drive)
    • Take an Intercity bus to Tacoma then transfer to a Sound Transit Express Bus, Link Light Rail or Sounder Train
    • Amtrak train from Lacey to Seattle. 

 

Schools

Most residents fall into the North Thurston School District

Residents living in the far west side of the community are in the Tumwater School District.   

 

Shopping

Just 5 minutes away, you have three corners of shopping

  • QFC – located on the SW corner of Yelm Highway and College.  Rite Aid, McDonalds, other restaurants, stores, and businesses
  • Lowes – located on the NW corner of Yelm Highway and College.  Thrive Gym, Starbucks, Twin City Credit Union, PostNet, and other stores and restaurants
  • Safeway – located on the NE corner of Yelm Highway and College.  Subway, Ferrelli’s Pizza, other stores, restaurants, banking, and services.

 

Recreation within 5-10 minutes of Indian Summer:

If you are a member of the Indian Summer Golf and Country Club, you have the world-class golf course, driving range, and exercise facilities at the clubhouse available to you. 

If you are not a member, yoga classes are open to anyone at the clubhouse, walking through the nature preserve, and access to the Chehalis-Western trail for walking, running or bicycling.
